cascade is an educational platform which encourages and facilitates multi-disciplined working, with an aim to promote collaboration and convergence amongst young people, students and graduates from different creative disciplines [e.g. architecture, moving image, product design, illustration, graphic design, interaction design, photography, science and engineering]. The learning and process from these workshops are then presented at the festival to inspire others as to the vocational opportunities within the creative industries as well as to introduce the idea of collaboration and its importance.
case study: cascade 09Graduates from a variety of creative disciplines took part in the second onedotzero_cascade over 6 days in september 2009, The brief: re-imagining your city. How can you inject artistic elements into your urban surroundings to brighten, enliven and improve everyday life for the inhabitants. The result: 6 days, 40 graduates, 17 disciplines, 9 professional practitioners concluding with a day of activity, debate and discussions at the BFI Southbank.

A landscape that has been rapidly assimilated by a worldwide culture, notably within the areas of animation, motion graphics and digital effects.
