last night saw the launch of the onedotzero festival held at the village underground. the event, saw a preview of the adventures in motion being screened at the festival, preview of film screened at the party included wow+flutter, j-star, extended play, craftwork, citystates, h5 retrospective + logorama and many more amazing films. the launch party included an interactive installation, which showcased the festival information on a multi touch screen table courtesy of so touch and mindstorm. the event co-insided with our sponsors glue london celebration of their 10 year anniversary and the celebration culminated into a frenzy of interactive digital art.
today, at the first day of the festival saw an amazing turn out for the screening programme craftwork, featuring bubbalicious directed by geoffroy de crecy. with an age driven by non stop digital culture, craftwork see’s a revived handcrafted approach to producing new works. the films fuse together a home-made, stuck together approach bringing quirky productions through which emerges a more tactile aesthetic. if you missed craftwork today, make sure you take the opportunity to watch it sunday night.

tonight at the festival we’re screening one of our feature film specials $9.99 directed by tatia rosenthal. the film revolves around a 29 year old unemployed man living with his parents, dave ponders the meaning of life and decided to spend $9.99 to find the answer. this debut feature from rosenthal boasts a cast of geoffery rush, anthon lapaglia, samuel johnson and claudia karvan. the movie itself is a refined stopmotion animation set somewhere between an imaginary world and bitter reality based around the short stories by etgar keret.
tomorrow at the festival we have two amazing panel discussions.
one panel discussion ‘digital realities’ explores digital film distribution from its early form to its potential future and the viability of building a sustainable business model in this growing area. the panel discussion will encompass different areas of digital distribution from public service, video-driven social/content sharing networks and online branded campaigns to mobile, vod, content sharing on pirates sites. the panel will consist of speakers from bbc film network and glue london, come along and be a part of the digital distribution discussion.
the second of our amazing panel discussions revolves around the concept of art spilling out of the cultural institutes to intervene into our city streets. this discussion explores the new dynamic and tensions between public and private space from sanctioned art in the public realm to graffiti sprit via street art to digital installations. for this discussion the panel will include jason bruges and graffiti research lab.
