in these fast-forward times driven by digital culture, many creatives have revived a handcrafted approach to producing new visual work. across promos, broadcast and independent shorts. many have begun to pare their work back, using a homemade diy aesthetic, which is stitched, knitted, collaged, stuck and folded together. don’t miss the pyromania of corin hardy’s latest promo for the prodigy, or the truly unique costume design in misfit, a music promo by australian based directors the glue society.

TRANSFORMA: Bang Out

When CLP (chrisdelucavsphono.com) asked us to do a video to a track from their new album, we dug deep in the prop-box, whacked the helmet man on the head a few times and he dreamed up this colourful cardboard Alptraum. Bang out of order.

"They came, they found paradise, they made it their own..."
TXT ISLAND an animated typographic adventure by director Chris Gavin. The film uses plastic signboard letters to convey an epic story of man versus nature.

This film was shot as stop-motion animation, then 'enhanced' with After Effects. The soundtrack was created by Russell Pay.

Recycle Invaders

I was invited to be one of the 20 artist to do a short for Julien Vallée’s Challenge Your World project with Motionographer.

About the video:

Thiago's imagination of a perfect world was the inspiration for his machine. It transforms paper back into trees (the reverse process performed by humans). Flying hands would come and collect the paper to feed the machine and plant the trees in the earth – doing the manual work for us. In reality, we need to do our part and help the environment by using less and recycling more.
